Get a solo hit, then talk to me — Ruger tells BNXN
Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Michael Adebayo Olayinka, popularly known as Ruger, is again at loggerheads with his colleague, Daniel Benson, known as BNXN after the release of his sophomore EP ‘Bad Since 97’.
Following the release of BNXN’s sophomore EP titled ‘Bad Since 97, the artiste on Twitter celebrated his album reaching the number one spot on Nigeria’s Apple Music Album Chart.
In his post, BNXN used the caption “What if I, What if I, What if I… Cook” which is likely a derivation of Ruger’s hit single ‘Girlfriend’.
The post comes as a swipe at Ruger with whom he recently had a public spat over his hitmaker status.
Ruger reacted with a tweet “Get a solo hit, then talk to me, fatty bum bum.”
In response to Ruger’s tweet, BNXN in a series of tweets wrote, “Man had to body shame? Project #1, and I didn’t have to whine my waist. Think you’re moving funny? I’ll be Sam loco. Let’s go. Baba Fryo swag-jacking pirate.
“The project will ALWAYS be more important than the hit! Look at Burna Boy! That’s my yardstick, you think I wanna blow with 1/2 songs and I no fit come back? When he was dropping you didn’t call those songs hits back then but you see now? Open your eye patch oloriburuku.
Please have mercy on us your fans please
I love both their music
