Jigawa Commissioner For Commerce, Zakar, Dies At 60
Jigawa State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Salisu Zakar, has died at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano State.
He died at the age of 60 after a brief illness.
His death was confirmed on Friday by an aide to the Jigawa State governor, Auwal Danladi Sankara, on his Facebook page.
Sankara wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that we announced the death of one of the members of the Jigawa State Executive Council, Alhaji Salisu Zakar, the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry.
“Until his death, Alhaji Salisu Zakar served Jigawa State in different capacities. From civil service he rose to be appointed as the State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB) chairman, and later the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry.”
