This happened in Lagos island, Lagos state. According to the woman it all started on may 14th 2022, when the landlord’s lawyer sent a quick noticed in the claim of she violenting the house law of bringing her pet into the house (3 bedroom flat she rented with her own money, it wasn’t giving to her by charity, she payed for everything on ones pay) which it was clearly stated on Jiji where she saw the house, that ‘pets are allowed’.
On 28 of July 2022, this woman and are children witness an horrifying sight, as the house POP came crashing down on all their furnitures and properties in the sitting room, thanks to God that no one surtain any injury. Before that day in the week before which is on the 23 of July 2022 the house POP started displaying cracks on it. This brought panicked to the woman, her children and everyone else who saw it. The woman made calls to the caretaker, but instead of the caretaker,it was the so called brother of the landlord that showed up, in attempt to oppress this innocent woman. He started screaming at the woman in Yoruba and mixed English when he knows fully well that this woman isn’t Yoruba. Trying to get into the woman head, that she stands in the wrong for calling anyone, that it’s just POP and she doesn’t have the right to complain or utter a word about what happens in and out of the house. Even almost trying to hurt the woman, using the woman’s popping stick to strike the POP and creating an hole in it; which is shown in the pictures below. And dragging the attention of passerby who witnessed it all including the cracked hole POP made by the ‘so called landlord’s brother’.
This woman on her on right was being oppressed by the landlord and his people in Lagos state from day one she got into that compound. Even when everything was clear that all the fault was from the landlord, still they all try to ride on the woman.
Because she wants her money back and already parked out of the house, still they refuse to refund her remaining months rent money. They even went to the extent of threatening her with the police. Saying She’ll get arrested if she’s seen any where close to the premises of that compound and moving the blame of the fallen POP to her. That she was the one who set everything up and broke it.
In the woman’s report, she has tried reporting the case to human right but the human right officers in Lagos are careless of the job they do. They don’t attend to people as they job state. She has reported it to the police(but we all know how Nigeria operate). Right now she seeks for the aid of anyone who can help her. As she says, her life and her children lifes are all in danger, because of the numerous threats from the landlord, his lawyer and their people. They’re also report that a lot of the tenants in that compound has packed out about 3(three) tenant, plus her is 4(four) from 6(six) tenant in a compound.
This injustice in Nigeria is getting out of hand. Someone should pls come to this woman’s aid. The matter is not as little as anyone might think. The worst situation is that the landlord, lawyer, caretaker, brothers everyone involved are all Yoruba-Muslims and they all think alike. This woman seriously needs back up.
