S’West PDP to Oshiomhole, Nigerians know better
it’s too late to defend Tinubu
Following the claim by former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, exonerating the Party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu from any blame for President Buhari’s actions, the PDP has kicked against the alleged insinuation describing it as ‘purile, illogical and vexatious’.
Oshiomhole had during an interview on Arise TV on Wednesday said he was aware that attempts had been made by critics to blame Tinubu for some of the failings of Buhari’s regime on the security and economy, he however held that Tinubu never occupied any position in Buhari’s government as well as taking any government contract in the last seven years.
But in a swift reaction, the PDP has issued a strong statement condemning Oshiomhole’s claims
Chief Sanya Atofarati, PDP Southwest Zonal Publicity Secretary last night in a press statement accused the former Governor of Edo State for taking Nigerians for a ride.
According to him; “It is too late in the day to defend Tinubu’s influence in packaging, promoting and installing Buhari before Nigerians in 2015 and any claim to the contrary was an exercise in illogicality
“But Nigerians know better that Tinubu wields enormous powers in Buhari’s government than any serving minister in the APC” he said
He, therefore, argued that it would be wrong to allude that Tinubu had to be in government before he could be relevant.
“Oshiomhole should be reminded that Tinubu’s recent claim that he remains the kingmaker in APC was a statement of fact from someone who had been instrumental to the installation of the President, Vice President, National Assembly leaders and significant members of Buhari’s executive council
“Nigerians have also seen the display of Tinubu’s shared arrogance during the APC’s national convention when he sensed that his long dream to become Nigeria’s President may be truncated by some few disgruntled elements in his party, he simply descended to base sentiment, railroaded himself to clinch APC’s ticket thereby silencing his opponents with ‘Emilokan’ mantra.
“In all of Tinubu’s visits to Aso Rock as APC’s national leader how many times has he advised Buhari on his lopsided appointments of all security chiefs from one section of the country and the antendant frightening state of insecurity in the country?”
“What has come out of the discovery of bullion van inside Tinubu’s Bourdillon Ikoyi residence and a sitting CBN Governor could not raise a finger to arrest an economic saboteur?
“These are all facts before Nigerians and any attempt by Oshiomhole to defend the indefensible is not only puerile, but vexatious and illogical. Tinubu is complicit in everything that is wrong in Buhari’s government”
