The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Monday, March 20 declared the PDP candidate, Siminialayi Fubara, the governor-elect after he defeated runner-up Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Announcing the result in Port Harcourt, the Returning Officer said Fubara secured 302,614 votes while Pastor Tonye Cole, came second with a total number of 95,274 votes.

Wike, speaking at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, said it was “only God that could guarantee this kind of victory achieved by the party.”

Also Governor elect, Fubara promised to not disappoint the people of the state.
