ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU; GENEROSITY PERSONIFIED:

An aged leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) was in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital on an oversight visit. He was looking out of his hotel window one day when he saw three old women rooting in a garbage can for food. The vision set the old politician soul on fire. Physical torture shook his body. He burst into a violent spasm of invective against a system in which this was possible. Thus inspired, he sat down to invent a plan to end poverty in Nigeria and came up quickly with a surefire Welfare Plan. This old gentleman is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He is an honest man of generous impulses. And his anger led him into the mazes of modern economics which he understood as little as the poor old women whose plight had detonated his wrath.

He has now formulated a Welfare Plan that will eradicate poverty from the shores of Nigeria, and that is why he wants to be president. The plan is simplicity itself. Every person in Nigeria reaching the age of 60 will receive N30,000 a month. There were four conditions: (1) that he or she is unemployed; (2) have no criminal record; (3) if employed, have no income that is over N30,000 a month; and (4) spend the entire N30,000 each month. A man and wife over 60 will be getting N60,000 a month.

A more sympathetic and benevolent idea has never entered the brain of man. But we are talking about Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the Lion of Bourdillion. His idea is certainly more generous and benevolent than Peter Obi’s cost-saving scheme or Atiku Abubakar’s privatization policy.

As series of bad governments have made the minds of the Nigerian people to get off the tracks of reality, this alluring promise should light up the imaginations and appetites of the aged. We should help to spread it like a bush fire among the oldsters until millions of them are willing to march behind the good Jagaban on election day in 2023 as in a holy crusade

The Jagaban has mouthwatering welfare plans for Nigerian youths too, and they will be unfolded in due course.
